We've accomplished a lot in these first few days. We're learning new rules and routines and so far I'm very impressed with the level of hard work, enthusiasm, and cooperation I've seen. While it may seem a bit overwhelming at first, I'm confident that all students will soon acclimate to a new school year and all that goes along with it. Be sure to ask your child about our classroom theme. We've had a devotion, sung a few songs, and created a few projects to launch the theme. Check out this Youtube video to get a taste of what we've been discussing.

I've posted the new field trip schedule with the necessary changes. There is also a new link under the "More..." tab with memory work strategies and the first assignment. A note will go home this coming week about memory work and spelling lists.
I went to the 30th Annual ArtStreet festival held downtown Green Bay and had lots of fun. The duo form of a group called ColdTrain (Mr. Bunn's band) played and Nathaniel had a good time dancing with other kids. I really enjoy Artstreet since it has three of my favorite things: food, music, and art! Unfortunately, last night, there was not any art displayed yet. I might stop by today to see the art if I get a chance.
Thank you to Mrs. Uitenbroek for pointing out a mistake on the field trip schedule. We are down for a FVL musical trip on April 15 which is incorrect. The correct date should be April 18. I'll send a revised schedule home in this week's Friday folder I was happy to see parents from all of our students at orientation last night. Now that everyone has information about our church/school/classroom websites I hope they check it out and find this format of getting information helpful. Feel free to send comments/suggestions for information that you would like to see at this website. If you haven't noticed most information is found under the "MORE..." heading on the home page. If you move the mouse so that the cursor is on the "MORE..." heading you will find where the rest of the information can be found. The singing schedule has been made and will come home in the first Friday folder. I should also have it posted on the website by the end of the week. Start looking ahead and checking to see if your child will be able to attend all singing dates. If they can't, it's hugely helpful to me to know when they will be absent. We work hard on our songs and sometimes have soloists and instrumentalists so we need to know who'll be there.
Today I had an opportunity to meet and welcome our new second grader. Kalyn loves to make friends, complete art projects, and read. I look forward to introducing her to all of her new St. John friends!
I had a lot of fun viewing all of the beautiful art projects. All students from St. John were able to participate and did fantastic. There were so many ribbon winners! Elliott Diny, Trystin Kluess, and Kaden Hagenow all recieved a special merit awards along with their blue ribbons. This is quite an honor since very few of these ribbons are handed out among the hundreds of school exhibit entries. Congratulations St. John students!
I've explored how to use this website and now it is time to start putting things together!
